Scope and Rationale
This NACE technical committee report summarizes the approaches and experiences of Task Group T-1D-34 on oilfield corrosion inhibitor testing and evaluation. The objectives of T-1D-34 for this report were defined and agreed on as follows: (1) Establish the pertinent parameters to be observed and/or controlled during laboratory and field evaluation of corrosion inhibitors for the purpose of establishing a common baseline for the comparison of the results from such evaluations; and (2) Conduct a round-robin test in order to establish the reproducibility of corrosion inhibitor ranking as indicated by two different tests conducted in different laboratories.
