Corrosion Control of Submerged Areas of Permanently Installed Steel Offshore Structures Associated with Petroleum Production
The cathodic protection criteria in this standard for achieving effective control of external corrosion on buried or submerged metallic piping systems are also applicable to other buried metallic structures. The standard includes information on determining the need for corrosion control; piping system design; coatings; cathodic protection criteria and design; installation of cathodic protection systems; and control of interference currents. The cost of corrosion control is also addressed in the appendixes. This standard is cited in the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 49, Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline: Minimum Federal Safety Standards, Part 195, so it is being made available by NACE at no cost to those who have to comply with it.
