Abstract
Bridge painting in the Northeast part of the country can be a challenge for the owner, their inspection staff and the contractor. Much the same as living in the northeast though a harsh winter, if planning and preparations are not done it could be a long cold season. Bridge painting also needs to extend its efforts to the next level protect equipment, materials and control ambient conditions in containment. This paper will show and give examples of some of the protective measures and expanded inspection techniques that are required for a successful bridge painting project conducted during the winter months in the northeast.
