Whether one is coating concrete for immersion, containment, anti-graffiti, etc., the coating system is only as good as the bond to the concrete. The major reason that coating and lining projects fail in the first six to twelve months is due to inadequate bond to the concrete surface. Most bonding failures between the coating and concrete surface will be eliminated when one understands the conditions that cause this bonding failure. When these conditions have been identified, steps can be taken to repair the concrete or design the proper surface preparation and coating system for the environment.
