Abstract
The use of near-100% solids edge retentive epoxies in tank preservation has been driven by the need for regulatory compliance and the reduction of life cycle cost. A consideration of the chemistry and formulation, application, and performance of solvent based epoxies versus solvent free epoxies allows for an appreciation of not only the goodness offered by the new evolving technology but for the difficulties associated with change.
