Abstract
The role of the specification in producing high quality work is often underrated. Fewer disputes, better co-operation and – above all - better and more profitable work, can be achieved by detailed attention to the key aspects of the specification. This paper describes some ways to improve specification phrasing, including those sections related to the scope of work, workmanship and quality control.
