During military ship and offshore platform construction weight, International Maritime Organization (IMO) approvals, and VOC content are a prime consideration. There is a need of commercial products that can fulfill International Maritime Organization (IMO)/Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and Qualified Product List (QPL) approvals, are lightweight, and contain no VOC, are environmentally friendly, and can be used for different applications.

There was a direct need for a material that presented the following properties:

IMO / SOLAS / QPL approvals for unrestricted use.

Ultra lightweight.

Quick turn around.

Epoxy based, for approval in wet or dry spaces.

Heavy pour capabilities, with the ability to feather edge.

Excellent thermal insulation characteristics.

Excellent vibration dampening and flexural stability.

Excellent sound attenuation properties.

Easy to apply.

We have found a new material that fills this requirement list, and is now the most state of the art multi-purpose underlayment available on the market today.
