As President, David Boyer’s extensive experience in the field of masonry cleaning and preservation qualifies him to coordinate his company’s new product development and technical support efforts.
In addition to his many responsibilities at PROSOCO, Inc., Mr. Boyer is president of AMT Laboratories, a professional consulting group whose services include laboratory and field testing for diagnoses and remediation of masonry staining and deterioration problems.
Mr. Boyer has aided in the preservation of important historic properties throughout North America, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Some of the more significant projects include the United States Capitol Building, the United States Library of Congress, The Smithsonian Institute, New York’s Trinity Church, London Stock Exchange, and Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
He has helped pioneer the use of water-based, liquid-applied air and water-resistive barriers in the masonry construction industry leading to increased energy efficiency and mold prevention in masonry veneer buildings.
Mr. Boyer has both written and lectured extensively on issues related to masonry cleaning and preservation. He is the author of several articles, including “Masonry Cleaning – the State of the Art” (American Society for Testing and Materials), and “A Field and Laboratory Testing Program” (Association for Preservation Technology – Bulletin).
His published New Rules guidelines for safe, effective cleaning of sensitive masonry has helped many contractors successfully clean masonry buildings of all kinds.
Mr. Boyer was a major contributor to the Sealant, Waterproofing & Restoration Institute’s recently published Clear Water Repellent Manual. It’s the construction industry’s most comprehensive and definitive survey of water repellents for masonry.
Mr. Boyer served as guest speaker/instructor of the Masonry Institute of America, the Construction Specifications Institute, the Waterproofing Contractors of America and many others.
