The following paper will briefly review the origin and development of dehumidification and climate control equipment for the most efficient surface preparation and coatings to surfaces in enclosed spaces. As the needs of the surface preparation and coatings industry evolve, so to do the requirements and ancillary equipment used by field personnel working on these projects. As a result, new and better ways to size coatings projects have come about. The scientific analysis and use of Psychrometrics has been implemented. Different and more efficient ways of achieving interior climate conditions have been developed. And as with all things, the necessity for proof or documentation of the work performed has become much more important.
