The costs associated with the completion of steel tank projects continue to climb as schedules get tighter and the use of advanced technical materials, trained labor and specialized application methods become more frequently utilized. Additionally, costs related to warranty work that could not have been planned for at the estimation phase of the project are wreaking havoc on a companies profit and loss statements thus impacting other parts of their business. The unexpected costs incurred are not always subject to just the coatings contractor on the project either. In a way, all parties including the owner, coatings contractor, specifier, inspector, material and equipment supplier share some burden when a project does not get completed as planned.
