There are a variety of ways to engage and author with AMPP, from conference presentations and papers to standards committees, to magazine and journal articles. Learn more about our opportunities below.
Conference Papers, Abstracts, and Presentations
AMPP Conferences offer opportunities to present in front of your peers and to prepare abstracts and full conference papers for publication.
How It Works
- Review list of symposia accepting abstract submissions at AMPP Annual Conference on ace.ampp.org
- Submit an abstract following the guidelines by the deadline
- If accepted for a presentation with a full conference paper, submit your paper by the deadline

Standards Committees
Standards Committees are responsible for the generation, publishing, and maintenance of all AMPP Standards, Guides, Technical Reports, and Materials Requirements that require a consensus-driven process.
How It Works
- Review list of current Standards and new projects in progress
- Create an AMPP profile if you don’t have one and then email [email protected] to join a standards committee
- Complete the project request form for new standards ideas
Please Note
- AMPP does not publish the individual names of contributors to our standards; however, AMPP does have annual standards awards including Certificate of Participation, Certificate of Accomplishment, and Certificate of Appreciation

Technical Exchanges
Technical Communities of Interest (TCIs) are responsible for fostering discussions around Materials Protection and Performance technical topics.
How It Works
- Review list of current TCIs (Technical Program – AMPP)
- Create an AMPP profile if you don’t have one
- Join the TCIs that interest you
- Contact the TCI Leadership or the AMPP Staff Technical Engagement Team for opportunities to present and lead a TCI discussion around a particular topic
Please Note
- AMPP TCIs do not publish Standards or Technical Reports, occasionally they may create a white paper or document to provide information around a technical concern
Materials Performance
This monthly membership magazine publishes technical articles, case histories, and editorials/viewpoints that solve corrosion problems, describe failure analyses, and more.
How It Works
- Write your paper following magazine guidelines
- Submit your article here
- If accepted for publication, you will be notified by email and be asked to submit information for your author bio

CoatingsPro Magazine
This bimonthly membership magazine is available for free to the coatings community and publishes successful projects, project photos, news, and product highlights.
How It Works
- Take high-resolution pictures of your projects (before, during, and after), capturing the (substrate, infrastructure, etc.). Make sure your crew is working safely per OSHA regulations
- Email information about your project to [email protected]
- Magazine staff will contact you about your project for more information
- If accepted, staff will work with you to write an article about the project

CORROSION journal
This monthly hybrid journal offers both free publication (available to subscribers only) or paid open access publication (available to all readers), and publishes research articles.
How It Works
- Write an article about your experiment, findings, new methodology, or model, and submit it here
- Article will be prescreened for plagiarism and submission information, then will be assigned for peer review
- If accepted, your article will be edited for grammar and journal style and formatted for publication
- Authors will receive a layout proof for review prior to publication

Books
AMPP publishes a variety of books and ebooks, from guidebooks and manuals to chapter books.
How It Works
- Fill out a book proposal explaining what the book will be about, who will read the book, and other information
- Email your proposal to AMPP Books Staff for review
- Work with AMPP staff for production timelines and book details
- If accepted, authors work with AMPP staff to set production timelines and book details
Please Note
- Authors receive competitive royalties on their books
- Staff coordinates technical review of the content, copyediting, layout, and production of the book
