Abstract
Chromium is one of the most important elements that determine corrosion resistance of alloys in acidic solutions. It is also the key alloying element to resist sulfurization and oxidation at elevated temperatures. A N06044 has been developed for applications in chemical process industry and coal fired boiler. In this paper, corrosion resistant properties of the alloy in acidic solutions are shown. The corrosion resistance of the alloy is much more excellent than that of any other conventional corrosion resistant alloy under some conditions in acidic solutions such as nitric acids, the mixtures of nitric and hydrofluoric acids, diluted and concentrated sulfuric acids and diluted hydrochloric acids.
