Abstract
Flow Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) has plagued the nuclear and fossil power industry with piping and components failures for more than 40 years. Two-phase FAC has been recognized since about 1970, while single phase FAC has been acknowledged since the mid-1980s. U.S. and international utilities recognize FAC as a major contributor to piping and component degradation.
