Abstract
This paper presents several high-performance, broad-shear-range corrosion inhibitors for sweet conditions which exhibit excellent cold temperature stability and low emulsion tendencies. The laboratory tests demonstrate the product’s excellent corrosion inhibition properties amid high-and low-shear conditions. A pitting analysis utilizing profilometry revealed the products superior capability for inhibiting pitting compared to standard high-shear inhibitors. The paper also presents the product’s temperature stability, and emulsion tendency. The results demonstrate the product is an excellent candidate for oil and gas production at cold temperatures that are exposed to fluids with high and low velocities and mixed with CO2 gas.
