Abstract
Cased pipeline construction creates operational challenges for cathodically protecting and assessing the condition of the carrier pipe inside a casing. Filling the annular space between the casing and carrier pipe is a method commonly used to control corrosion on the exterior surface of the carrier pipe in a casing. Case studies of the assessment of filled casings using Inline Inspection (ILI) and Direct Assessment (DA) will be presented to evaluate the effectiveness of filling casings to control corrosion.
