Close-interval survey is one of the primary indirect inspection tools in applying direct assessment for external corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. While close-interval survey is a relatively mature tool in corrosion control, special considerations are necessary for the application of integrity management, such as survey selection, preparation, locating and distance measurement, data integration, and data validation.
