Abstract
The performance of in-line inspection tools employed for integrity assessments has significant impact on the reliability of assessment results, the extent of required remediation, and justification of re-inspection intervals. Analytical methods for verification of assumed performance metrics, in terms of sizing are presented in this paper. The application of methods and criteria described in API 1163 for rejection and acceptance of assumed tool tolerance are discussed. Methods for sampling in-line tool results for verification are also presented and compared.
