Abstract
The paper gives a brief overview of the fluid flow factors that influence internal corrosion of carbon steel. Following the overview, the special case of water dropout from oils in pipelines will be considered. Both model and testing options for qualifying or quantifying flow effects on dropout will be discussed. No all-encompassing model or test is available that provides a definite answer for a specific oil or condensate in a field pipeline
