Abstract
Designing cost-effective cathodic protection systems for concrete cylinder pipe requires understanding the characteristics of the pipe metallic components, the characteristics of the mortar coating, and the characteristics of the environment in which the pipe is installed. The interrelation of all these factors defines the cathodic protection current density, current distribution, potential attenuation, and electrical continuity requirements.
