Abstract
What unique benefits do thermoplastics offer that would make one specify them for heat transfer applications? After all, the thermal conductivity of a typical fluoropolymer is on the order of one tenth of that for Type 316 Stainless Steel. This paper will present information and provide actual cases where thermoplastic fluoropolymer materials were used in heat transfer applications successfully where metals typically did not or could not.
