Bicine, N-N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)glycine CAS# 150-25-4, has been identified as a contaminant in amine gas treating solutions. The contribution of bicine to the corrosivity of amine gas treating solutions that is predicted by previously published laboratory investigations is compared to actual plant experience.
