There are various formulations for non-chromium rinses used on zinc phosphate coatings. Some are just phosphoric acid with inhibitors while others are materials that help facilitate paint adhesion. The remaining formulations are the inhibitor type. Corrosion resistance, adhesion, blistering and underfilm attack at the scribe characteristics are summarized for different supplemental coatings on heavy and light zinc phosphate coatings.
