Abstract
Hard and corrosion-resistant overlaying alloys were experimentally developed by adding vanadium carbide in Ni30Crl0Mo alloy, and its localized corrosion resistance was evaluated by conducting the pitting potential measurements in 3.5% NaCl solution at 80°C and by immersion in a tank containing seawater. Some of the experimentally developed alloys had a pitting potential equivalent to that of UNS R30021 and did not develop any crevice corrosion ever after immersion for 6 months.
