Abstract
Martensitic stainless steels are used in centrifugal compressors for sour gas service. This paper investigates the stress limitations of CA6NM for sulfide stress cracking in low pH brines of varying chloride concentrations. The results are compared to an actual production environment through simulated environment testing of compressor impeller materials.
