The following are three examples of corrosion design errors on deep-water projects that could have had serious implications. The background to each is discussed along with actual and potential consequences and the fix that was initiated. The original purpose of the “Corrosion Bloopers” tag was to allow presentation of this type of problem in a light-hearted, humorous manner to better enhance corrosion awareness to project engineers and managers. Of course a good deal of the humor disappears in the written text, so try to attend the presentation.
