Abstract
The ability to predict corrosion life has always been important for effective application of galvanised steel products. In this paper, an Internet based software developed to predict the life of zinc coatings is introduced. The scientific methodology and development process for the prediction models will be described. Considerations for the design of the software with regard to scientific clarity, requirements of end users, and scope of application will be discussed. An evaluation of the accuracy of prediction using recently published data will be presented.
