Abstract
Heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) units are being installed at many different utility and industrial facilities worldwide. There are many variations in the design and operating conditions for HRSG units. In some cases, these conditions promote certain failure mechanisms. Some common, as well as unusual, failure mechanisms that occur in HRSG systems will be described in case histories. Methods to control these failure mechanisms will also be outlined.
