Abstract
Lean duplex grade UNS32304 sulfide stress corrosion (SSC) resistance has been evaluated in gas production environments. Tests have been performed on specimens sampled from plate material and from longitudinally welded pipes. Standard testing environments and environments representative of actual field conditions have been considered. In the testing conditions used, no cracking has been observed. It is concluded that this lean duplex grade may be a valuable alternative for applications in gas fields.
