Abstract
The growing need for coating repair work on operating pipelines has resulted in a requirement for coatings that can be applied over damp pipe surfaces. New epoxy coatings have been developed for use in situations where the pipeline temperature and humidity conditions result in damp pipe. This paper presents results of a laboratory study conducted on two epoxy products developed for coating of damp pipe surfaces. Also included are brief discussions of the formulation and bonding mechanism of epoxy and other coating types to damp surfaces, and specific coating application procedures.
