The new NiCr28FeSiCe alloy exhibits, because of its high chromium (27 - 28 %) and silicon content (2.5 - 3.0 %) as well as the addition of rare earth elements (0.05 - 0.15 %), excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing, carburizing and sulphidizing environments. Even in multi-component environments like those of waste incineration, coal gasification and metal dusting generating atmospheres the alloy behaves excellent. This paper provides corrosion data obtained in laboratory tests and industrial exposure tests.
