Abstract
Although the types of corrosion encountered in cold climates and methods of controlling such attacks are the same as elsewhere in the world, intensities, effects, and impacts often differ significantly. This paper provides an overview of these differences. It also provides information on the severity of cold climate corrosion and comments on what may be done to avoid or reduce these corrosion problems. They are placed in settings concerned with design, transportation and storage, construction, operations, and maintenance.
