Abstract
Splash zone protection measures comprising corrosion allowance and different coatings used on some oil and gas platforms in the Norwegian North Sea since 1987 are described. The coatings used are high build epoxies on the structure and rubber on risers. Experience with different coating concepts, both during fabrication and operation is discussed. Compliance with regulator requirements is also discussed.
