Abstract
Expandable seamless tubes were developed for the innovative application of in situ steel pipe expansion for casing, liner or tubing applications for the oil and gas industry. The products comply with requirements of deformability, mechanical properties in the expanded condition, burst and collapse resistances and sulfide stress cracking (SSC) resistance. The paper describes the product and its manufacturing route, and presents the properties measured in the initial, as expanded and as expanded and aged conditions. In particular, the following properties are established:
Very low strain ageing sensibility
High toughness at low temperature
Satisfactory collapse pressure
Good corrosion resistance
