Abstract
As reliable service in offshore application has become more critical and component failure has become more costly, various experimental methods have been employed to “predict” service life of elastomers and elastomeric components. This paper, whilst not intending to be a critique, profiles and compares two of these techniques, which vary by procedure and principle, as they have been applied to a particular subsea application.
