Abstract
The natural occurrence of corrosion has plagued the fastener industry since it's inception. In all industries, the use of a metal finish has always been needed in order to protect the fasteners that are used to hold products together. Initially, these were the simple platings, but as industry mandated more performance, various other systems were offered to meet the heightening corrosion protection requirements. Many proprietary coatings were offered as standard plating replacements, but waterbased Zinc Aluminum coatings have been proven to provide the durability that is required to maintain peek performance, in addition to environmental compliance to ensure that the environment is a safe place to live.
