Abstract
New manufacturing technologies and equipment, in conjunction with construction management expertise, now allow for the use of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) as the construction material for process equipment as large as 80' in diameter. FRP has provided solutions for corrosion problems for over 40 years. Now the application of the material can be extended to even larger field constructed equipment. Significant experience in this area has been gained over the past several years, and this paper will review two field winding projects.
