Abstract
We have developed a duplex protection system of saturated polyester powder coating and galvanizing to protect outside telecommunications plants in high-corrosion locations. The important thing in this duplex system is to guarantee the adhesiveness of the coating on the zinc substrate. We have confirmed that the adhesiveness of the coating is significantly improved by applying metal spraying instead of hot-dipped galvanizing. In addition, we applied plastic spraying to the metal-sprayed articles. We obtained a smooth surface of saturated polyester coating using specially developed polyester resin with high fluidity. This coating was confirmed to have good adhesiveness, impact resistance, and scratch strength.
