Abstract
Decylisononyldimethylammonium chloride (DIDMAC) has been recently developed, patented and received EPA approval for use in cooling water systems. This product overcomes the high foaming traits of traditional quats, while still providing highly efficacious microbiological and mollusc fouling control. In addition to excellent algicidal and mollusc control, this product has shown a synergistic relationship when used in concert with methylisothiazolone (MIT) chemistry in both laboratory and field evaluations.
