Based on a partial nondestructive examination by another contractor, it was recommended that the deaerator heater and storage tank in Unit No. 3 at the Holly Street Station of the City of Austin be replaced. This paper will discuss the detailed nondestructive examination, engineering evaluation and repair welding of these vessels. The repair was performed in accordance with all applicable Code requirements and at a fraction of the cost of new vessels.
