Abstract
The available literature on the use of heterocyclic compounds as corrosion inhibitors in acid media has been reviewed. It has been noted that the workers in this field have either used sulphur or nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds for studying inhibition action. The authors have synthesized compounds containing sulphur and nitrogen both in the same ring and studied their inhibition action in acid media. These compounds were found to be better inhibitors than those containing either atoms alone.
