Abstract
Corrosion cases and their causes pertaining to problems of heat exchangers, condensers, coolers and pipes in the oil refinery service were the subject of an ongoing study over the last three years. Based on the findings of the study with respect to the technological processes and operating conditions involved, solutions to corrosion problems were developed for the first time via a selection of suitable materials of construction, including corrosion resistant materials, alloy upgrades, coatings and corrosion inhibitors.
