Abstract
Fifty welds were made on 3 different grades of 12/13 % Cr steels with a new "one-shot" welding method, with the objective to develop welding procedures for these steel qualities. Mechanical properties were acceptable after welding parameters were found.
The two material grades best suited for pipelines were corrosion tested in a CO2 environment. The results show that the corrosion resistance for the welds and base materials are similar. This makes 13 % Cr steels interesting material for pipelines.
