Abstract
Environment limit for safe use of Type 420 was estimated by corrosion data on laboratory performance. Type 420 shows good resistance to CO2 corrosion at elevated temperatures up to 150°C in several percent NaCl solution. From the view point of resistance to sulfide stress corrosion cracking, partial pressure of H2S is limited to 0.1 atm.. This paper summarizes a lot of kinds of laboratory data for CO2 corrosion resistance at high temperature and SSC resistance at low temperature of L-80 grade Type 420.
