Abstract
This paper discusses the development and testing of a new deposit and corrosion control inhibitor for cooling water systems. This new inhibitor has been designed to control the deposition of calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, iron oxide and silt as well as ferrous metal corrosion.
The multifunctional properties which allow the control of both deposits and corrosion enable this inhibitor to provide a basic building block for a new generation of cooling water treatment programmes or to be used alone for specific waters.
