Abstract
The environmental impact of specialty chemicals for use in hydrocarbon production is receiving increased attention, especially in cases where they find their way into the sea or are used in sensitive land areas. This paper documents test results which trace development of corrosion inhibitors with significantly improved environmental properties. Discussions include corrosion inhibition, organism toxicity, partitioning coefficients, biodegradability and field testing.
