General definitions of quality are reviewed and simplified definitions for quality coating application and inspection are provided. A short synopsis of the current, national quality movement is provided and its’ anticipated influence on coating application and inspection services is discussed. Survey results of major applicators and inspection companies depicting the influence of the recent quality movement are presented.
