Abstract
A chemical cleaning process has been developed in France in order to clean PWR steam generators in which denting occured. Based on the use of gluconic and citric acids in presence of an inhibitor, it allows long contact times. Although denting is not encountered in French nuclear power plants (NPP) the process has been used to clean the tube bundle at Tihange NPP, the tubesheet at Nogent and Saint-Alban NPPs and the tube to tube support plate crevices at Fessenheim NPP.
