Abstract
A program has been developed for the prediction of BaSO4, SrSO4, CaSO4, CaSO4·2H2O and CaCO3 scale formation. The effects of temperature, pressure, and ionic strength are considered using fundamental thermodynamics. The information needed for sulfate and CaCO3 scale prediction are presented. Examples of practical application in single brines and brine mixtures are given.
