Abstract
Successful stray current control requires shared responsibilities by transit system designers, utility company representatives, and transit system operators. This paper discusses the chronological and on-going process of coordination between these three parties during transit system inception, design, construction, startup, operation and maintenance aspects. These state-of-the-art procedures will be of value to all who operate transit systems or have facilities in the environs of an existing or newly planned transit system.
