Abstract
Field histories of corrosion with completion equipment in water injection service reveal that corrosion is strongly influenced by dissolved oxygen. Experience suggests that while corrosion is minimized by exclusion of oxygen, practical limitations of water treatment and surface injection facilities require that critical components be made of inherently-resistant materials.
